Kerala Gramin Bank Employees Union (KGBEU) and Kerala Gramin Bank Officers Union (KGBOU) represent the vast majority of employees and officers of Kerala Grameena Bank (KGB). KGB takes its birth on 08-07-2013, through a Govt. of India Order, amalgamating erstwhile South Malabar Grameena Bank sponsored by Canara Bank and North Malabar Grameena Bank sponsored by Syndicate Bank, the only two Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) of the Kerala State, which started functioning in December 11th & December 12th 1976 respectively. Due to the amalgamation, the vibrant organizations of employees and officers of both the Banks i.e North Malabar Grameena Bank Employees Association and South Malabar Gramin Bank Employees Union were amalgamated to shape KGBEU and North Malabar Grameena Bank Officers Association and South Malabar Gramin Bank Officers Federation were amalgamated to become KGBOU.
